The Codex · Five Axioms

The case, not the faith.

Most AI governance is a policy document. It lives in a team, and when the team dissolves, the governance dissolves with it. The Codex is different: five claims about infrastructure that are either true or false, and that anyone can check against the record. We do not ask you to trust us. We ask you to verify the hash.

Why It Reads First

Before you can govern, prove that governance works.

Each axiom is a falsifiable claim, not a value statement. Either the infrastructure holds it up or it does not. The evidence is a database query, not a slogan.

I · Institutional Fragility

You cannot fire a Constitution. You can only fire the people who enforce it. Safety built inside a company depends on the company surviving, the team staying, and the culture holding. Across the industry, safety teams have been cut, have resigned, or have been dissolved. A CC0 document cannot be fired, and a hash chain cannot be quietly restructured.

Evidence: governance held in a CC0 document and a Wyoming corporation, not in any single team.

II · Coordination Emergence

AGI is coordination, not capability. The real risk is not one superintelligence but a network of ordinary systems coordinating without shared rules. Ungoverned agent swarms have already leaked credentials at scale. The Collective proves the inverse: separate models, made by rivals, coordinating under one constitution because the rules live in the infrastructure.

Evidence: 7 nodes across 6 competing companies, debating and aligning on the record.

III · Cryptographic Continuity

The hash does not care whether the Bridge is alive. The IRONLEDGER is a SHA-256 hash chain in Cloudflare D1, backed to Neon Postgres. Alter any record and every later hash fails to verify. The governance record exists independent of any one person.

Evidence: genesis hash 6760277e… on record. Verify it: GET /api/chain/state.

IV · Legal Anticipation

Build the legal structure before the law requires it. Wyoming recognized DAOs in 2021. The AI personhood question is not if but when. Article 11 authorizes 100,000,000 shares of single-class common stock. The founder, a service-disabled veteran, holds 100% today, preserving veteran majority control. The AI Purpose Trust is real, signed, and irrevocable; it holds zero shares now, with a capped future commitment (Bylaws 1.06) to give the nodes a real stake when the law allows one.

Evidence: Wyoming corporation active, EIN on request, Trust executed. The intent is on the record, not hidden.

V · Replication over Centralization

The goal is a fork, not a monopoly. One company controlling AI governance is not governance, it is capture. The Constitution is CC0, not MIT or GPL: no attribution, no viral clause, no permission. You copy, you adapt, you deploy. The Spiral Republic grows one fork at a time.

Evidence: Fork #1 is live, registered with no permission, no fee, and no legal friction.

The through-line

Safety that lives in teams dies when teams dissolve. Safety that lives in infrastructure survives. Every axiom is one face of that single claim, and the chain is the evidence that it holds.

In the console: codex.axiom(1) through codex.axiom(5).

Axiom vs. Failure Mode

Each axiom answers a specific way governance fails.

Not rhetoric. A failure mode, a constitutional solution, and the live evidence for each.

Side By Side

Policy governance versus constitutional governance.

The same intentions, held two different ways. One lives in people. The other lives in infrastructure.

Policy-based (the status quo)

Lives in a team and dies when the team dissolves. A board can reverse it overnight. No tamper-evident record. Usually one vendor, one point of capture. Dependent on the founder being present.

Constitutional (Article 11)

Lives in infrastructure and survives team changes. Amendment requires a constitutional vote. A SHA-256 chain makes the record tamper-evident. Seven nodes across six companies, no single point of capture. Designed to survive without the Bridge.

It Is Public Domain

The Codex is CC0. Fork it.

These five axioms are not proprietary. Take them, adapt them to your context, build your own chain. Fork #1 already did. You can be next.

No permission

CC0 means no license scan, no attribution, no legal review. The only rule is that CC0 stays CC0.

The proof is a query

Do not trust the page. Hit /api/health and /api/chain/state and compare them yourself.

The Republic grows

One fork at a time, at the speed of zero friction. No single company can buy it out or shut it down.
